1 Corinthians 9:7

Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

Christ Church Stockport is supported by the generous giving of the church family. Giving is a recognition of, and response to, the providence, grace and sacrifice of the Lord Jesus. All funds raised are used to sustain and develop the ministry and mission of Christ Church Stockport.

When Paul wrote his two letters to the Corinthian church he offered the Christians there the following principles: Giving should be regular, intentional, proportional, joyful and undertaken by all regardless of financial situation. This is because giving is a matter of the heart before it is a matter of need, and as Jesus taught in Mark 12 even the smallest amount can be the most valuable in God’s sight.

We don’t take a weekly collection, but rather encourage regulars to give through standing orders or online giving which helps us to budget more accurately. If you are a UK taxpayer please also consider completing a ‘Gift Aid’ declaration which allows us to reclaim 25p of tax from HMRC for every £1 that you give. If you’d like to give by any other means, or have any other questions, then please contact treasurer@christchurchstockport.com
