We are committed to doing Jesus’ work in Jesus’ ways
Therefore we aspire to the following values:
Everyone is welcome at CCS. We view people as precious, dearly loved image bearers of God, not church commodities. As such we seek to meet people as they are and work with them to explore how we can work together toward the building of Christ’s Church.
Recognising our own sin and need for grace, we will always seek to treat each other in their sin, with understanding, patience, gentleness and grace. We will call one another to repentance, restoration and to walk with Christ.
We seek to encourage one another toward a culture of godly generosity. Using our time, gifts, resources and finances for the glory of God, the building of his church and the good of Stockport.
We seek to frame the Gospel in terms of God being for the world. Our job is not to condemn the world but to call them to a new life walking with the Lord Jesus.
The Gospel is transformative. We expect that, as it is preached, the church will change both spiritually and numerically. Change for gospel reasons at CCS is therefore welcomed and celebrated.
Whilst appropriate pastoral confidentiality is vital, there are no secrets about how Christ Church Stockport is governed, how decisions are made, or how our finances are used.
